Snapmaker Orca Information

Snapmaker Orca is an open-source slicer based on the OrcaSlicer project and tuned for Snapmaker machines. It can import formats such as 3MF, STL, STP, STEP, AMF, and OBJ, prepare a build plate, apply printer and filament profiles, and produce G-code for a local workflow. Depending on the printer and connection, the application may also upload a sliced job and provide status or device controls.

The application is presented as beta software, and support can vary by device, firmware, operating system, profile, and release. Snapmaker U1 support is the current focus described in the site materials, while support for Artisan, 2.0, J1, and J1s is being expanded. Features such as multi-color painting, multi-material setup, Full Spectrum color mixing, camera view, temperature control, and remote printing may depend on compatible hardware and configuration.

Printing safety: Review every sliced plate before sending it to a printer. Confirm the machine, material, nozzle, bed, temperature, clearance, and first-layer settings. Stay near a running printer when appropriate, follow the manufacturer’s safety guidance, and never treat a website guide as a substitute for the printer manual.
